About

Sanjiv Lal is a co-founder of Motivant and a partner of the firm. He oversees business development and sales across the portfolio. The operating thread of his career — twenty-four years across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and molecular genetics — is the technical foundation of Motivant's flagship life-sciences sector and the ecosystem the firm is building around it.

Sanjiv earned a B.S. and M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The Ohio State University and built his early career inside Fortune 500 biotech organizations. He has founded three laboratory businesses over his career and successfully exited two of them. The remaining operating positions — Rio Grande Valley Labs in Alamo, Texas, and Marquis Labs in Oklahoma City — are core lab assets inside Motivant's life-sciences portfolio. He has overseen strategic planning, sales execution, and operational scaling at both, with more than one million test results delivered to date through Rio Grande Valley Labs alone.

Outside Motivant, Sanjiv is a co-founder of RegenTherapy — a regenerative-medicine education and consulting platform that sits next to Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center's clinical delivery. He was also appointed to the Advisory Board of Nugevia, the longevity-focused consumer-health line of the publicly traded Jupiter Neurosciences, in April 2026. Together, those roles are the science-side and adjacent-IP side of the verticalized life-sciences stack Motivant runs.

Inside the firm, Sanjiv is the principal who operates the lab side. He is the connective tissue between the diagnostics layer (Marquis, Cellestiq, Rio Grande Valley Labs), the education layer (Asciere, RegenTherapy), and the consumer-delivery layer (Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center) — the integrated stack the firm has built across its life-sciences portfolio. His prior leadership roles at Healthcare Partners Investments, Gravity Diagnostics, and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (a SIDIS company) are the operating credentials behind that work.

Sanjiv's family also operates inside Motivant's real-estate portfolio. The Lal Group — a 715-unit, 250-property residential and commercial book across northeast Ohio — is a Motivant-listed real-estate holding tied to the same family. The relationship is consistent with the firm's family-office structure and is part of how the principals' operating exposure runs deeper than a single sector.
